Ashley E. Mendoza, a member of the firm’s Immigration and Employer Defense and Labor Relations practices, was a speaker at the Connecticut Bar Association’s program entitled “The New I-9 Form & Immigration Compliance Under the New Administration,” presented by CBA’s Immigration Law Committee.

The program addressed the following issues:

  • The history of the Form I-9 and enforcement trends
  • An overview and pointers on the new Form I-9
  • Common errors and how to make corrections
  • ICE audits
  • Tips on how to limit employer liability

In addition, advanced topics such as remote employees and mergers and acquisitions were discussed.
